Who doesn’t need a squad? Even Santa needs his own squad and boy does he have a mix of characters in this DOG #SQUAD! I’m participating in the MFT Sketch Challenge #409 this week. This is the first time I’ve submitted to this challenge so I’m excited to see what everyone creates. The sketch was very simple, but I know my fellow crafters are going to do great things with it.

I have a box of stamp sets that I’ve been itching (appropriate term given this is a dog card, right?!) to use this holiday season and I finally managed to pull a few new ones out to use this week. I am in love with almost every dog set that MFT puts out (I think I have all of them!) and this set, “Deck the Howls” (and coordinating dies) is no exception. With such a cute set of characters, I wanted to use all of the dogs and managed to do so on this project. Did you notice there is one in the mix with a red nose – a must, right?! I also needed a cute Santa and the set I turn to often is ” “BB Jingle All the Way” and matching dies. I like that this Santa looks like he’s taking roll call. I imagine him saying, “Now Rover, Now Rockie, Doxie and Bailey…” For the letters, I needed a set with a matching hashtag in it (not always easy to find) and found my MFT sets, “Stitched Alphabet” and “Stitched Numbers” to spell out “Santa’s #SQUAD” for the top. With a little pattern paper, some snow using Opaque White Pearl Pen and a Signo Uni-ball Gel pen and many colorful Copic Sketch markers, I put this card together for the challenge. Finally, one of the requirements for the challenge was a phrase banner by the diagonal corner design. I added the phrase, “Happy Howlidays” from the dog set. I hope you like this one. I have a few dog lovers that will most likely appreciate this DOG #SQUAD! Thanks for visiting!
