My teenage daughter is really into visiting coffee shops that are cute, trendy, unique and tasty! There is just something fun about going to one. I decided to create my own happy coffee shop using the Newton’s Nook Designs  Cup of Cocoa stamp and matching die set. While one may see this as more of a Christmas/holiday set, it also works as an everyday set, too.

I created this to be the outside view, looking into the shop through the store front windows. I hand drew a woodgrain design for the walls and shelves.

The awning was made using punched out cuts from a slot punch that I’ve had for long time. I simply punched out slots out of red and white, adhered them together using a strip of cardstock on the back side, alternating between white and red cardstock pieces. Using my score tool, I created a crease at the top so that the awning is dimensional. Now comes the fun part…adding the tasty treats. This card was created as an inspiration project for the Inky Paws Challenge #88. It’s a color challenge using black, white, red and sky blue. Each cup was colored in these four chosen colors. The images are adorable and fun to color, too. Oh by the way, I also added a blue-cast to the woodgrain to fit the theme, too. I like how that turned out, too!

Consider giving the Inky Paws Challenge a try. One random participant is chosen to win a gift certificate to Newton’s Nook for each challenge. There is a new challenge every two weeks!

On to the next project! Bobbi
