Gnome  Place Like Home might be my favorite set from the Season to Sparkle release by Honey Bee Stamps. There are so many that it’s hard to choose, but this one is right up there on my list! Today’s card features the following products from Honey Bee Stamps:

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by die cutting a snowy background using the coverplate out of a warm gray cardstock. I further die cut the rectangular shaped snowy background into a circular shape for my gnomes and edged it a bit with a darker gray ink to make it stand out. I stamped, Copic-colored and die cut my gnomes and a small holly leaf and berries image. I backed the gnomes with black craft foam that was also die cut using the coordinating die so it fit perfectly under each image. I did this to make them  stand out from the background. Notice the present the girl is holding and the lantern in hand for the middle gnome? Those are additional image accessories I used for this card. The little girl’s arms/hands are die cut to hold the present, candy cane, etc.

I stamped gray snowflakes (from the same set) on the top half of my card front. I positioned my background circle and gnomes on the card front to measure for my phrase position at the bottom. I stamped it in black ink using my MISTI tool. Once my phrase was stamped, I adhered my background and gnomes to the card front. I colored in the “O” in the word, “gnome” using stripes to match the gnomes, leaving a bit of white in between each one so I didn’t saturate the cardstock and allow it to bleed through. Note: If this ink bleeds through for you, you’ll want to use a separate cardstock piece for your card front and adhere it to a card base when you are done so no ink shows through to the inside of the card. It all depends on the pressure you apply and if you are using the 110lb cardstock or not. Lastly, I added the holly to the side of the phrase as an extra embellishment and a few drops of liquid applique (heat set with my heat tool) to the snowy background for dimensional snow falling.
