There’s so many fun snowflake shapes in the new Layering Snowflake Honey Cut Dies, a new die set that is part of the Honey Bee Stamps holiday release called, Season to Sparkle. The release will be available on Monday, 10/14 at 12:01 AM ET. Here’s two 5″ X 7″ cards I made using these pretty, delicate and intricate flakes.

Interesting thing happened while making this card, I die cut a bunch of snowflakes out of the blue glitter paper and when I looked at the waste, I loved what I saw and used it as my background for this card. I layered more glittery goodness over it using more snowflakes that I die cut from some mauve and purple glitter paper. I simply glued them on. Some of the snowflakes did not get layers. I liked having the white of the cardstock base just show through.

I needed a phrase as pretty as this background so I used a phrase from the stamp set, Season to Sparkle. I stamped the phrase with Versamark and embossed with the Honey Bee Stamps exclusive, The Bee’s Knees WOW embossing powder. I used the dark teal in the trio collection for this card. I die cut the phrase using the coordinating die from the die set and added a white craft foam layer below it to make it dimensional. A few iridescent sequins to match were added to the top for extra sparkle goodness!

My second card uses the same Layering Snowflake dies along with the Snowy Day Coverplate Die for the background and the Winter stamp and die set for the phrase. This is a 5″ X 7″ card and the coverplate is designed for an A2 card. To make it work, I layered it on top of the A7 card base.

The “winter” word was die cut from glitter paper to match the snowflakes. I stamped “warm wishes” in a deeper teal color below. Lastly, I added some sequins to the front in plums and pinks.
