My coordinating cards today are sweet, soft and simple to make. They use the following new products from the Hey Bestie release:

– Be Kind stamp set (There’s a coordinating die set. Buy the stamp and die bundle here.)

– Miss You Wafer Die

Both greeting cards are 5″ X 7″ – A7 size. I love having lots of room to design on the front and I prefer sending cards of this size. Both cards could be easily made in a smaller A2 size if that’s your preference. I also thought it would be fun to use colored pencils today. Both cards are not fussy. Countless hours of coloring are not needed on either one! These are very easy for anyone to make.

Card One – Thanks Lovely Friend

My first card is a clean and simple thank you. I stamped the leafy design from the beautiful, new Be Kind stamp set on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock  and colored the leaves lightly with colors of aqua, pink, yellow and gray using Primsacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I purposely did not fill the leaves in completely. I wanted to keep it light, imperfect and whimsical, allowing white to show through under the color. The leaves were fussy cut out. (There are coordinating dies for this set of you are not a fussy cutter crafter!)

For the card front background, I splattered black watercolor paint (my favorite watercolor set I own) on the card front and stamped the phrase, “Thanks Lovely Friend” in the lower right corner. After adhering the leaves to the front, I trimmed the entire front to 4.75″ X 6.75″ size and attached it to a 5″ X 7″ warm gray card base allowing the warm gray color to border the design. Sequins in pastel colors were added to complete the card using Gina K Designs Connect Glue.

Card Two – Miss You

For my second card, I die cut the Miss You Wafer Die from a piece of watercolor paper with soft colors of pink, yellow aqua and green painted on it. It actually was a scrap piece I had on hand from another project. Keep those scraps, ladies and gents! The words were backed using the background piece from the set die cut from black cardstock. I added another layer of 4MM black craft foam the make the words dimensional.

Using another leafy design image from the Be Kind stamp set, I stamped the leaves in black on an aqua cardstock. I colored the leaves in using colors from the “miss you” die cut. Again, I just added color. I did not worry about if everything was filled in. The look of the card is meant to be more whimsical like card one. The aqua piece was adhered to the bottom half of a 5″ X 7″ white card base. The top was covered with a piece of white cardstock to match the layer thickness. The “miss you” focal point design was attached to the front. Sequins finished the card for a little sparkle!

There’s so many fun products to like in both releases. During winter, I love to craft so the timing of these releases couldn’t be better with Valentines around the corner, too.  If you love these, please use my links here to shop the entire release and store.
