Autumn Leaves stamp set (sss202151) This set also comes with the dies here.

Thankful For You die set (sssd112194)

Center Cut Fall Leaves stamp (sss102155)

Bold Merry Christmas Stencil (ssst121502)

Thankful Heart Card

I am totally in love with this new background stamp that includes a center cut heart. I’ve used this stamp with and without the heart center, and I love it both ways. For this 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped the image on 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and trimmed it down to 6″ to allow some of the warm gray card base to show through on the top and bottom. (I will attach it to the base later.) I colored the background leaves using the following Copic marker colors: YG93, YG91, E71, E70, and W1.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut a few of the leaves and berry springs from the Autumn Leaves set. The leaves were colored with YG99, YG97, YG95, YG93, YG91 and YG61. I used RV99, RV69, and RV09 for the berries. I added glitter to the berries using a Quickie Glue Pen and Twinklets Diamond Dust Glitter. A hemp twine bow was added to the berry bunches.

I cut out the blank heart section (I fussy cut the heart by hand) from the stamped cardstock as well as from the card base and inserted a vellum piece in between the card base and the stamped front image and adhered the three layers together.  Next, I die cut the Thankful For You die set  out of the same warm gray used for the card base and a wine color and adhered them together using Precision Glue and attached it to the leaf/berry spray. I positioned it so that the die cut set crosses over the vellum heart on the diagonal to complete the look.

Autumn Berry Tag

My next project is a simple tag that can be added to hostess gift such as a wine bottle, goodies bag or gift box. I die cut the tag out of warm gray cardstock using the Hero Arts Tag Nesting Tag dies, stamped leaves and some berries on the tag using the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I colored the leaves and berries using red-violet (RV) and violet (V) shades of Copics. I kept my colors muted and gray to keep it “fallish” looking.

I also stamped another leaf on cardstock, colored it in, cut it out (there is dies for this, too) and added it to the top of the stamped images and added another hemp twine bow. I added glitter to the berries using a Quickie Glue Pen and Twinklets Diamond Dust Glitter. Gingham ribbon in a wine/white color and the “thankful” die cut were added to finish this tag.

Rustic Merry Card

My last card has a more rustic, vintage feel with plenty of faux wood textures. I made this card using the Bold Merry Christmas Stencil and the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the leaves and berries (dies available) and kept them in the traditional holiday colors of green and red. Next, I cut a card front measuring 5″ X 7″ and using a ruler, fine-tip black marker and a little Copic shading in warm grays, created the vertical batten board for the background.

For the rustic and aged wood sign, I used Pixie Dust Spray on the back of my bold stencil, let it dry for a minute or two and then placed the tacky side of the stencil on a medium charcoal gray cardstock and applied Hero Arts Hero Hues Unicorn White ink using my large blender brush. After the white ink dried, I went back and added horizontal planking lines to the cardstock with a ruler and fin-tip black pen. Next, I applied faux woodgraining by simply drawing graining lines in browns using E55, E57 and E43 and warm grays, W9, W7, W5 and W3 to the cardstock. What happens is that the Merry Christmas letters are in a dark gray color, as if it was engraved in wood. The darker color makes it look recessed and shadowed. I added some shading to the letters using a W9 and W7 Copic to make them more pronounced and to keep the lines of the letters sharp.

The faux sign was cut down to fit the card front and the  entire card was assembled with the leaves and berries attached at the top. The card front was adhered to a white card base. I love how this 5″ X 7″ card turned out, It has a very natural, vintage wood feel to it. I think it is so on trend with today’s rustic, metal and wood home decorations that you see everywhere.
