Rosebud Pincushion A7 Card

For my first 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Sketched Rosebud Bundle – Hot Foil and Cutting dies and foiled a rose gold foil on a light coral cardstock and black for the roses and leaves. Thanks to the design of these dies, all of the same color elements were foiled in one pass and die cut in one pass. It really takes very little time. Notice, I did add some deeper coral shading on the roses in some places, but it really is not necessary to achieve a beautiful look with the buds.

For the background, I used the Detail Pincushion Plate die and die cut a piece of warm gray cardstock. Because my card is an A7 size and the plate is for A2 sized cards, I turned it 90 degrees and covered the top section of my card front panel. I used the same coral used for the roses, behind the die cut. I added black cardstock to the bottom half of the card front and head embossed “with sympathy” phrase (you could use any phrase here) using Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder and Versamark ink. The phrase is from the Clean Live Everyday stamp set by CZ Design. The card was assembled by adding the roses to the center area. A couple of roses were propped up using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. Ballet Slipper sequins were added to complete the look as well as black Nuvo Drops to the pincushion centers.

Missing You So Much A7 Card

For my next 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Concentric Doodle background stamped in a warm gray on warm gray cardstock. Before taking my  Missing You So Much die pieces apart, I hot foiled the phrase and its shadow die in rose gold on black cardstock. While this is not how the die was intended to be used, I thought I’d give it a whirl anyway. Since the cut die lines are not real thick, it’s not perfect, but I liked it anyway and used it. I die cut the letters from coral and attached the two together. I used a scissors to cut around the foiled outline. If I had die cut it with the base die, I would have lost the foiled outline.

I hot foiled and cut the roses and leaves in silver foil on black cardstock. I also die cut two medallions using the Kaleidoscope Medallion Wafer die and 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I attached the elements to the card front then arranged the roses and phrase over it. I used Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares to attach the phrase so that it would stand out a bit. The card front was attached to the card base. Shiny, ivory-colored sequins were added around the design to complete the look.
