There’s a new 2021 Christmas release at Purple Onion Designs called, “I’ll Be Home for the Holidays” by Stacey Yacula. It’s filled with so many fun designs that are truly delightful for your holiday creations. There’s a train, an automobile and sweet home and train station scenes to love. It’s all about being together with family this holiday season. Today, I’m taking the car home to celebrate this new release! I’m using several new stamps on my card today including:
Home for the Holidays Sentiment set
I’m also using a background stamp called, Winter Trail It works perfectly for autos and this particular stamp! It is a perfect fit.
This card measures 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 card envelope. To create the card, I cut a 5″ X 7″ card front panel from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I stamped the Winter Trail background scene and colored it using YG67, YG63, YG61, YG03 and YG00 for the leaves/pine needles. I used 100, E49, E44 for the pine tree trunks. Shades of BV and C grays were used to add shadowing to the snow drifts. I kept the road white for a snow covered look. For the card, I used BG72, BG23, BG11 and BG10 with E53, E51 and E50. A touch of W2 and W1 were used to soften the colors for shadows. For the chrome/metal and tires, I used C7, C5, C4, C3, C1, C0 and 100. The rust on the car and bumper is YR27 and YR24. The lights are Y19, Y08, Yo4. All of these colors were also used to color in the animals on the inside of the car with the addition of an R17, R14, YR68,V04, and V12 for the scarves and sweaters on the animals. I used B00, B000 and B000o for the cloudy sky background.
This road is SNOWY! so I added lots of snow by splattering white paint over the car, trees and total background. I stamped the phrase at the bottom, cut out the automobile and attached it using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. I add some cool gray shading under the car, on the snow-covered road. I attached the entire card front to a 5″ X 7″ card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.
