Hello, Bee friends! The latest release, Love Letters is now available to shop at Honey Bee Stamps! All the fun producta you’ve been seeing all last week are now in the shop to purchase. Qualifying orders can also earn a FREE Bee stamp and die set, called Bee Young. Look below for a a card I made with them.
My card today uses the following NEW products by Honey Bee Stamps:
Loads of Love stamp and die sets
I also used the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp and die sets to make this pickup-shaped card. These new products were designed to be used with the Big Pickup stamp sets.
To make this lovable card, I stamped and die cut the card front panel and also die cut the pickup shape from a folded piece of 80lb white cardstock to create the tented card base (place the pickup shape die with the top cut line just over the fold of the cardstock). By die cutting a separate top-fold card base, I can conceal the Copic coloring bleed from the card front panel inside. It also offers additional stability to the card.
Before attaching the card front, I colored the truck using the following Copics: BG72, BG09, BG13, BG11, BG10, C6, C4, C3, C1, YR27 and YR24. The last two colors are for adding the “dinge.” Every vintage truck needs some good rust. 🙂 I stamped and die cut the load of envelopes, airplane/arrow and six trailing hearts and colored them in using Copic colors: R89, R46, R29, R27, R24, R14, RV09, RV55, RV02, and RV00 along with some of the grays mentioned above for shading. Notice I also stamped and heat embossed in white the LOVE U phrase on the tailgate after I colored the pickup body. The license plate words were also stamped on the front.
I attached red/white baker’s twine to the bottom of the truck bed by sandwiching the strings between the card front and the card base. Little hearts were added to the ends like cans on a “just married” couple’s car. I glued all the elements in place using Bee Creative Precision Glue. This glue is fantastic. You could also use a double-sided tape.
Inside, the card, I stamped phrases from the Pickup Lines stamp set and added some hearts to finish the card. I did not color in the hearts because it would bleed through to the back. I also wanted the stamped “love” to shine in red in the inside.
