It’s time for another Newton’s Nook Design’s Inky Paws Challenge and this time it’s a color challenge. Four colors – black, white, red and green – make up the palette. I decided to create a holly wreath using the Pine and Holly Dies set. I liked the idea of a high contrast background in black with white and bright colors for the wreath. I die cut the holly leaves out of the background and replaced them with green leaves and red berry inlays cut from scraps. I removed the center veining from each of the green holly leaves and allowed the white background to show through. In addition, I used the veining die cut from the black background cuts and additional white leaves cut from some scraps and used them as sticks/twigs in the wreath. Next, I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Sentiments of the Season in white on the inside of the wreath. I should have embossed first, but didn’t think ahead. Lastly, I added lots of snow using a Signo Uni-ball Gel pen. I like how this turned out and hope it inspires you to use this color combo, too!

Super crafty and great use of both sets.
