I’m feeling like Christmas is right around the corner these days. We got quite a bit of snow in Wisconsin on October 31 which transitioned me immediately from making fall projects to wanting to make Christmas projects. It’s kind of like taking a pass on Thanksgiving and advancing directly to Christmas! Sorry – thanksgiving lovers. It just happens! Even in my home, we put up our holiday decorations before Thanksgiving so we can enjoy them longer in the season! WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!

Today’s card features a set from Honey Bee Stamps called “Silent Night.” This is an older set, but I fell in love with it when I saw it. What’s sweeter than cute trees, a little sweet bunny and an adorable fawn adorned with a swag of greenery and open roses? Here’s my take on this sweet set.

To make this card, I used the following products from Honey Bee Stamps:

and From Sweet Petunia, my MISTI Tool (can’t live without it!)

To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by stamping the fawn, floral swag, bunny, and three trees using my MISTI Tool. I colored them using Copics and die cut the images and set them aside to make the scene setting.

To create the background hills, I started by first splattering some faded black (to make gray) and aqua watercolor spots on the white cardstock. I then applied snow using the Snowy Day Background Stencil and embossing paste in white. I die cut two hills – one for the foreground and one for the background. I stamped the top of the card front and the top of the foreground hill with the dotted stamp in the set in teal ink.   The hills where layered and adhered together and the phrase, “Peace on Earth” was stamped at the top with black ink.

Next, I added dimensional foam tape to the back of the fawn and placed the image in the forefront with the bunny. I adorned the fawn with the floral garland around the neck area. The trio of trees were added to the back hill.  Liquid Applique was applied to the tops of the hills to mimic snow covered ground. Liquid Applique just requires a heat gun to heat set it and make it puffy.  Sequins were added to the trees for ornaments. I used a sparkle gel pen to add lines to the trees for extra sparkle. The card front was attached to an aqua card base to finish it. I think this is a sweet card for someone who might need a little peace and love this holiday!

By the way, did you see the cute little bird on the fawn above? I used just the bird on a card I made in my last post. I love this bird! I used it on the sign, “Tis the Season to Sparkle” and colored the cutie in red. Check it out to the left. Here’s a link to my post on the Honey Bee Blog.
