I used Newton’s Nook Pumpkin Latte stamp and die sets for my inspiration card today. This modern girl is absolutely adorable and when surrounded by the warm tones of fall, simply warms yours heart!
To create my card, I started by stamping, Copic coloring and cutting out the sweet latte girl. On another piece of cardstock, I created a background of fall tones with foreground and background trees. I will admit, this background was a practice sheet from another project or class that I was working on. I didn’t have a use for it so I cut it up to use for this sketch. I love how the heavy foreground trees in the original art is now the background to the bird’s eye view of the tree tops. The back scene square was matted in a deep brown cardstock and mounted to the a piece of natural speckled cardstock piece that was secured to a deep orange/rust 5″ X 7″ card base.
I cut the smaller scene from the practice art and added a ground cover for the girl to walk on in brown. Next, I die cut a piece of craft foam and glued it to the girl to make her dimensional. I adhered her to the smaller square scene. I also added some shimmer in gold and clear to the tree tops and the ground area. It’s hard to see in photos, but in person it really sparkles and jazzes up the card.
The small square scene was layered on the larger square with foam tape to make it stand out. A piece of ribbon was also added between the layers to match the sketch. The phrase, “Thanks a latte was stamped below the larger square on the natural speckled cardstock. Sequins in coordinating colors were added to complement the design.
Now it’s your turn. We hope to see you at the Inky Paws Challenge!
