Oh, Bats! It’s getting close to Halloween and these cute bats are out at night. I created this spooky scene using Paperie Ink‘s new sets, Oh Bats and trick-or-treaters from the Boo Crew, now available for purchase at Paperie Ink.
The background was created using distressed inks in Black Soot and Mustard Seed. The trees were made using the branch from the Oh Bats set. I simply added additional branches and thickened the trunk with a black marker. I added some white ink using a gel pen for additional definition on the trees. I hand drew in some cob webs using my white gel pen and added black shadowing to them as well. Pumpkins and trick-or-treaters were added to the bottom along with hand drawn tall grasses.
Next, I added bats all over to create this scene. The phrase “Today is the Day” was stamped on white cardstock and added to the front. This is a slimline card measuring 8-1/2″ wide X 3-1/2″ tall. It fits inside a business-sized envelope.
