What happens when you give a hedgehog a balloon bouquet? Well if the balloons get too close to those quills…ouch! POP! That’s okay – everything quill be alright. 🙂 I’m using the Paperie Ink stamp set called, Be Hedgy. The set is filled with so many cute hedgehogs and fun little sayings like the one shown on my card.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I applied Distressed Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass to a front A7 card panel made from Neenah 80lb white cardstock. A white card base was also cut and scored from the same cardstock to make the A7 base. I also added some white dots and blue dots to the inked background ink for a fun look. Next, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the hedgehog and tree limb. The limb was attached to the card front with foam tabs to make it stand out. The hedgehog was placed right above it. I colored both images using the E50 to E59 range of Copics. I also added E42 and E43 to the limb.

Using a stamp set by Trinity Stamps, called You Lift me Up,  I stamped three balloons and colored them in yellow greens, oranges and reds and cut them out. I attached them to the card front (I could have stamped the balloons right on the front, too). I hand drew some deflated balloons on separate cardstock, colored them in, cut them out and added them to the card front. I placed two on the hedgehog’s quills (as if the balloons had just hit the quills and popped) and three on the ground. Lastly, I stamped the phrase from the set, right under the tree limb. The card front was attached to the card base to finish this card.
