Hello! I have another holiday card to share featuring a new set by Sweet November Stamps. The set I’m using is called, Santa Claus is Coming to Town. The set includes a Santa Claus with three heads/expressions to choose from. I chose the surprised look. There are six children that are positioned to sit on Santa’s lap. I’m using the boy who is crying. This takes me back to when my kids would be scared to sit on Santa’s lap and all I wanted was a nice smiley photo! You also get candy canes, an open book, phrases and more in this set.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with a card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I added die cut trees made from green cardstock and the Honey Bee Stamps Pine Trees dies.  I splattered white paint on the trees and attached them to the center of the card front. The center back tree was split in half and attached to the card so that the chair masks the open space. This allows the tree trunk to show under the chair white the tree top stands tall behind the chair’s back. With one quick snip of the scissors, this tree grew a few feet in this scene!

Next, I worked on Santa Claus and the little boy. I stamped both of them and colored them using Copics. I used the following marker colors:

  • Reds: R89, R46, R29, R17, R14
  • Greens: YG67, YG63, YG61, YG03, YG00
  • Cool Grays: 100, C10, C9, C7, C6, C5, C3, C1
  • Yellows: Y28, Y26,
  • Browns: E47, E44, E21, E11, E04, E00, E000
  • White Gel Pen

I fussy cut out all three – Santa Claus face, Santa Claus body/chair, and child. I attached the child to Santa’s lap and attached the entire feature to the card front. I added gold and silver pearl pen dots to the trees for a little sparkle and dimension. Lastly, I added one of the phrases from the set.
