Hello friends! Today I’m participating in a Simon Says Stamp release Instagram hop! We’re featuring the Beautiful Days release! Find loads of inspiration and ideas hopping with the designers. You can start from the beginning of the hop, at @simonsaysstamp or start with me at @bobbihartdesign and continue through the hop.
GIVEAWAY: Leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win a $25 gift card for the Simon Says Stamp store. Winners will be chosen randomly from the comments left on each hopper’s post. All winners will be announced on Simon’s Instagram feed on Monday, April 17, 2023.
On the hop, I’m sharing the following card plus a bonus card here that both feature the same products:
Color Blend Cardstock assortment
Delicate Florals Wafer Die (Here’s an alternate product that could be used >> Spring Blossoms Wafer Die
I’m also using the “it’s your birthday” wafer die on the first card and CZ Design Stop Drop Party stamp set on the second card below.
My cards below measure 5″ X 7″ and fit inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card fronts and card bases. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s the details.
“It’s Your Birthday” Color Blend Card
To make this 5″ tall X 7″ wide card, I used strips of the Color Blend Cardstock assortment to show off the blends in each one. I die cut the “it’s your birthday” wafer die and the Delicate Florals Wafer Die from white cardstock and attached them using Bee Creative Precision Tip Glue.
Once the die cuts were dry, I added in key pieces of the florals to the white outline design by cutting die cutting them from scrap pieces of the Color Blend cardstock. I left the smaller pieces of the bouquet in outline only, such as the leaves and the top stems. I wanted the main flowers to stand out more. Using the remaining cardstock scraps, I used a handheld hole punch to cut out colorful circles to glue around the sentiment and floral stems to accent them. The Color Blend cardstock is glossy so this card really is pretty in the light.
Best Day Ever Color Blend Card
My second card uses the same products. For all those fill pieces I needed in card one, I used the outline scraps to create this card. I added four rectangles of the cardstock and then attached the floral outlines to them. This is a fun way to use up the scraps!
Once I glued the flowers in place, I added a few clear enamel stickers to each rectangle design for added interest. I also stamped a phrase as the bottom from the stamp set, CZ Design Stop Drop Party . This was such a quick and easy card, yet it looks very intricate and interesting. The glossy sheen of the cardstock makes it look really professional, too. 🙂 One last look…
