The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

For this 5″ X 7″ card I started by sponging on a blue (top) and green (background) using Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Rustic Wilderness. I hand drew in some tall grass using YG23 just to create some transition between ground and sky. This is simple stuff and you don’t need to be an artist to do it! I use Honey Bee’s Blender Brushes for inking the overall background. They give a nice smooth look to the background.

Next, I die cut the elements of the tree trunk and vintage creel from white cardstock and colored everything using blended inks with a blender brush and Copic Markers. I cut the hooks out of black cardstock. I added legs to the Lucky Lures art to create a sign on two posts to make it look like a metal road or park sign. My inspiration was a sign at a watering hole, just off the road a bit. I used a ruler and my E39 to color one side darker than the tan paper I used. This make the posts look dimensional. You can see two sides of the post now.

Copic Marker colors used for the images:

  • Sign: E49, W4, W2, W1, YG23, YG67, YR15, Y19, BG15, BG02, BG72
  • Vintage Creel: R89, R59, R56, R39, R14, Y28, E57, E59
  • Tree Trunk: E49, E57, E55, 100, E42, E43, E50, W2, W3,
  • Fish: W4, W2, BG72, BG93, YG03
  • Stones: W4, W2, C9, C7, C5, C1, R89, E09, E55
  • Grounds: YG67, YG23, YG03
  • White Gelly Roll Pen for highlights

I assembled the creel, trunk and sign and started putting together the scene. I cut out a few pines and added them around the feature items to finish the vignette.
