Hello friends! It’s time for holiday crafting and Simon Says Stamp’s newest collection called, “Handmade Holiday.” I have a few projects to share with you that use new products from the release including:

Night Before Christmas Card

My card measures 5″ X 7″ so you can see what a big stamp design this Night Before Christmas Background Stamp is! It will fit on any size card with a little adjustment, including a slimline card. I used my Simon Says Stamp blender brushes to apply the color on the background stamp for this night scene sky created using Stormy Sky, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and the newest oxide ink color, Prize Ribbon. The rest of the design was inked in black in a two-part process. First the colors, then I added in the insets, removed the background and stamped the city and sleigh/reindeer in black. I splattered white paint over the entire design and added some yellow to the windows of the buildings and some BV000 shading to the scene. Finally, navy blue sequins were added to the sky for a little sparkle and dimension.

Joyful Tags

Both of these tags begin with the largest die in the Hero Arts Nesting Tags die set. I die cut them both from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.

For the JOY tag, I blended Stormy Sky, Shaded Lilac and Prize Ribbon and my blender brushes on the first tag. I lifted color from the tag using splattered water and a paper towel. I splattered white paint on the background. I stamped the black buildings from the Night Before Christmas Background Stamp on the side bottom of the first tag. I stenciled the blue design using Prize Ribbon and the Ornament Builder Stencil Set of 2. Lastly, I added the JOY die cut in vellum (shadow) and white cardstock for the top layer. I attached the word using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares, added a silver ribbon for the string and a random mix of sequins to complete the look.

For the Ornament tag featuring the Ornament Builder Stencil Set of 2 and the Therm O Web and Simon Says Stamp RAINBOW MINI Set of 6 Glitz Glitter Gels , I started by splattering vibrant colors of Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48) on the white tag. I stenciled three ornaments on the tag in Prize Ribbon, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet. I added Glitz Glitter Gels in Iridescent and Amethyst over the stenciled designs to add sparkle and dimension. I used a fine-tip black marker to add strings to each one and stamped to/from from the Honey Bee Stamps, Tag You’re It stamp set, on the bottom. A silver ribbon completes the look.
