The card I’m featuring today uses the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Coffee Shop House Builder Add-On die set

Coffee Shop House Builder Add-on stamp set

Coffee stamp and die sets

The Coffee Shop sets are “add-ons” meaning you also need the initial House Builder die set, too. (Released earlier.)

Coffee Shop Shaped Card

To make this card, I first die cut the card base from the House Builder die set. I scored a piece of cardstock in half and taped the die to the paper with the top roof edge hanging slightly off the fold line. This makes the card “folded” at the top and eliminates the need to use the hinge piece. If you prefer to hinge it, go ahead! The  House Builder die set has a hinge die in the set.

Next, I cut two more house shapes – one to color for the front and one to color inside. This is important if you are coloring with your Copics because it will cover any bleed-through from the markers. It also sandwiches the clear acetate covering the windows and door. Yep, these windows and doors have “glass” in the form of clear acetate. I cut a piece that covers the openings.  You gotta make it look real. 🙂 Potted plants and a free-standing menu board from the Coffee Shop stamp and die sets were placed outside the shop.

Metal Roof –  The metal roof and metal window awning were die cut from silver metallic paper. I wanted them to look a bit aged and weathered so I used my smaller Honey Bee blender brushes to apply copper and gold metallic inks to them. I also drew in black lines with a felt-tip marker and went over the lines with a Copic C5 to accentuate the seams/ridges of the die cut. I added siding to the building front by simply drawing horizontal lines using a fine-tip black marker and ruler. I added some shading with Copics in W4 and W2 under each black line for dimension. The cute sign from the set was colored, cut and matted with another larger die from the set and glued to the metal roof.

For the shop’s interior, I created a faux wood shiplap wall treatment behind the counter using my black marker and and Copics in E42, E43, E51, W2, and W4.  I colored the counter gray to mimic cement (this is a cool vibe coffee shop :)) in front using a C5, C3 and C1 and added a white strip for the counter. You can literally do anything with this shop to decorate it. Isn’t that the fun part?!

I stamped colored and die cut the chairs, tables, light fixture, wood shelf and all the extras and adhered them inside. I use the Honey Bee Precision Glue because is is the BEST on the market. (I’ve tried so many that clog and don’t work once they get low. This one does not clog and has a cute holder, too!)  Of course coffee drinks and a doughnut have to be in this scene, too. There are so many elements in this set that you can create so many unique looks using the accessories.

Inside the card, I added a black section at the top. It reminds me of a chalkboard menu board you’d see in a coffee shop over the counter. In this case, I added my sentiments instead. I heat embossed in white the phrases and die cut coffee from a burnt orange cardstock and white. It really pops off the black. I also stamped “Let’s Get Together” on the inside of the front cover. I just like so many phrases from this Coffee stamp set. These are perfect for “friend” cards. This card fits inside an A2 envelope for mailing.
