It’s Day 4 of the May release countdown at Papertrey Ink. There lots of fun baby items in this release and I’m using a number of them for this 5″ X 7″ card. I was invited to a Baby Sprinkle on Sunday. Have you ever heard of a sprinkle? It was my first time. Anyway, it is for mothers having their 3 or 4th baby and need newer items for the baby or different boy/girl items. This was all new to me. Heck, my kids are almost 21 now! What do I know? I made this card for my niece. She does not know if she is having a boy or girl. They have two girls (5 and 3) now. They thought they were done and sold all their baby stuff last year. God had a different plan for this family! Sydnei and her husband and both girls are beyond excited to welcome baby #3!

I’m using the following Papertrey Ink products that will be available on May 23rd at 10PM ET. I will link to the individual items once they are live!

🍼 Larger Than Life: Baby Sentiments
🍼 Baby Background stamp
🍼 Sweet Baby Bib dies
🍼 Just Sentiments: Welcome Stamps
🍼 Inside Greetings: Welcome Stamps

I used Neenah 80lb solar white cardstock for the base of this card. For the front panel, I used the same white cardstock and stamped the background design on it. Because my card is 7″ long, I stamped the design twice for a continuous design. I left the image in black and white since I was going to layer the bib on top. Isn’t it cute? I loved all the images so much, I cut the rainbow out of this background stamp design to accent the bib!

Next, I die cut the bib from aqua and pink cardstock and the lace from white cardstock. I hand cut the rainbow from a different piece of cardstock that was stamped with the background design, and die cut the large sentiment, BABY from white and black cardstock. The black shadow helps the feature word stand out from the background.

I assembled the card and added faux white stitching around the bib’s perimeter using my Gelly Roll white ink pen. I stamped the word “Oh” and the border “baby shower” words using black ink. Some 1/8″ strips in matching colors finished the border with a nice clean edge. The bib was attached to the card using foam tabs to make it more dimensional.

I like to accent the inside of my card with something matching from the front. I chose another rainbow, cloud and heart from the background stamp and glued it in place. I stamped the phrase from the Inside Greetings set to finish the inside. My niece loved the card and sent it around the room for everyone to see. I do believe people appreciate the beauty of a handmade card!
