Hi Crafty friends! It’s Day 2 of the Autumn Afternoon release by Honey Bee Stamps. This release is filled with autumn love from pumpkins, plaids, fall florals to nutty squirrels, wagons, barrels, apples and more! We’ll be doing four days of sneak peeks followed by the release, Monday, 9/21 at midnight, EST. There will also be a blog hop on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9/22 and 9/23. I’ll be featuring a special project on day 1 using the new products. Today’s card features sneak peeks of the following products that are part of the Autumn Afternoon release:
Hello Fall stamp and die sets
Slimline Sentiments Blanket Honey Cut Dies
Autumn Buzzword stamp and die set
I took a less “fall” approach to this card, yet it still whispers fall with the beautiful fall leaves in this set.
Autumn Leaves
To make this slim line card measuring 8-1/2″ wide by 3-1/2″ tall, I die cut the blanket background. See the cute fringe around the edges? I love this die for so many reasons. I used my fine-tip black black marker and a white gel pen to create the diagonal pattern on the blanket. I added various colors to Canson XL watercolor paper using the Zig Kuretake watercolors. I have a larger set of watercolors I used here, but if you are new to watercolors, this one is a nice starter set for under $15.00. After coloring my watercolors and allowing them to blend to make all sorts of pretty colors, I stamped the leaves’ veins and die cut the leaf designs out. I love all the variations of leaves I got from this process.
I stamped the phrases and die cut the “autumn” word using a soft blue, with tan and white shadows. Next I adhered all the elements to my white slim line card base measuring the same size with the scored edge at the top. Once everything was in place, I added these beautiful Ballet Slippers confetti mix sparkles to the front to complete the look. I love these sweet gems. Everyone should have these in their stash. There are no holes in them for the glue to seep through like a normal sequin, plus, they are flat on the bottom, allowing them to adhere with a larger base for the glue to sit on. It’s a much cleaner look. This card mails in a US business-sized envelope. I would add extra “non-machinable” postage due to the layering and the sequins. The non–machinable surcharge in the United States is currently $0.15 (2020).
This card makes a great “thinking of you,” “happy birthday,” or simply a “hello” card for a friend or family member! Don’t forget… These sets will be available tomorrow, 9/21 at at midnight, EST at the Honey Bee Stamps store! I can’t wait!
