Hey Crafters. I’m back with some more of those cute gnomes from Sweet ‘N Sassy stamps. This time, I’ve put these Christmas Gnomes into more of a woodland theme. They are dressed up and ready to take on the Christmas holiday!
My first tag using the Hero Arts Nesting Tag dies includes one of the three cute gnomes in the Christmas Gnomes stamp set. I added some plaid to his clothing ensemble. This is easy to do with a black Copic 100 marker. Buttons and stitching finish it off. For the rest of his outfit, I used C9, C7, C5, C3 and C1. The tree is done in YG67, YG17 and YG03. Red ornaments in R29 finish it off. I didn’t color to the edges of the tree’s layers so that it would like there was snow on the tips of the branches. Easy! His nose is done in E11, E00, and a little E000 right at the top. His hair and beard are done in E57, E55 and a little E44 to tone it down a bit. The background tag is stamped in the Farmhouse Check Background Stamp (available at SSS or HBS). The phrase is from the Christmas Gnomes set. I simply heat embossed it in Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder on black cardstock. The gnome image was adhered to the tag using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares to make him stand out a bit from the background.
For my second tag, I used the Through the Trees stamp set for the background woodland scene. I used the same colors as noted above for this gnome. For the red elements (shoes, mittens and candy cane), I used R59, R29, R17 and R14. The shading on the trees is done with C9, C3 and C1.
