I’m participating in the MFT Color Challenge no. 105 this week. The colors are fresh and bright and reminded me of the seasons in the Midwest. From barren trees in the winter to full greenery in the Spring and Summer, I could use all of the colors in this challenge to create this 5″ X 7″ card.
At the bottom of the card, I used the Sour Apple green color to create lush trees we love in the Spring and Summer months. The Milk Chocolate Brown was used for the tree trunks. Working up the card, next I created vibrant fall trees using the Persimmon color for the leaves and brown for the trunks. I also did some additional color enhancement by coloring over the ink using my Copic Sketch markers. After all, Autumn trees are a full of lots of color! After Fall comes Winter. I used the natural and brown tones again to repeat the color challenge colors. This color combo really worked to show the transformation of the tree through the seasons. The best part about these Modern Trees is that I could stamp all the little leaves quickly using the stamps in the set. This saved a lot of time and effort. This card is ready to send some “season’s greetings” filled with warm wishes in any season, all year long!
My Favorite Things stamp sets used include: Modern Trees, Snow Globe sentiments, and Stitched Sentiments (retired).
