Well it’s the last days of summer. It’s time for the final barbeques and pool parties for the season. So what happens when you invite a unicorn to your pool? Well…you get a BIG SPLASH of color!
I love the Pool Party stamp and die sets from Avery Elle. It screams fun to me. I love the inflatable pool – just stamp and color! When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it just for the pool. I plan to use this pool image again for Halloween…fun, fun, fun.
To make this card, I stamped, colored using my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the images. To make the background, I simply drew in some ground to “ground” the images using Copic YG21, YG03 and YG65 markers. Next, I hand cut the big splash in the back and colored it using bright colors of summer to match the mane of the unicorn. Instead of blue for water in the pool, I opted for these same bright shades. I added some bubbles, puddles and water drops in and around the pool for added interest.
Finally, I stamped the birthday phrases on the front of the card and adhered it to my card base. This is a 5″ X 7″ card, but could be easily adapted to a 5-1/2″ X 4-1/4″ card, too.
