I’ve been busy preparing projects for the Honey Bee Stamps Sneak Peek Week for it’s newest release called Season to Sparkle. There are over 50 items in this holiday release that goes live Sunday Oct. 13th – 9pm PST / Midnight EST.  It’s huge and full of lots of holiday goodness! From stamps and dies, to papers and gems, its a one-stop shop for your holiday project needs. Everything has been designed and coordinated to work together for total fabulousness! For the next five days I’ll be sharing some of the new products in the release and ideas on how to use them. I can’t wait any longer so here I go…

Gnome for the Holidays

My first card features Gnome for the Holidays stamp and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. The gnomes in this set are so cute dressed in their winter wear and Santa-like attire. There’s a holiday tree and a goat in the set, too! The words, Gnome and Gnoel are in the stamp and die sets ready to use as feature words in phrases like, “Gnome for the Holidays” and “Gnome Place Like Home” to name two.

To make this card, I used one of the newest patterned papers from the new paper pad called, Log Cabin. I used the the realistic wooded paper as a background for my gnomes standing out in a winter snow storm.  It’s like they are in the snow mountains, surrounded by wooded areas. Everything was colored using Copic Sketch markers. The GNOEL letters were die cut from the snowy background and then replaced with letters cut out of red and bright green cardstock. I stamped some holly on each side of the word and hand drew a little design next to each holly sprig bookend. For the snow, I used a white pen over the darker areas and a gray marker over the white areas for a continuous snowfall over the scene. Some simple shading on the snow completes this 5″ X 7″ landscape-oriented card.

Check out my next blog post for another holiday release set idea using a set called, Happy Christmas.
