It’s a snow day challenge and we are in week 2 of the latest Inky Paws Challenge #112. The challenge is to create a card featuring a “snow day” theme. Cards featuring Newton’s Nook Designs products are eligible to win a $20 store credit. One random entry will be chosen to win! Link your card by end of day, Friday, December 13, 2019 for a chance to win.

I’m using the following Newton’s Nook Design’s products for my inspiration card:

To make this card, I used deep reds, warm grays and yellow-greens for a more vintage look to fit with this cute camper image. I used distressed inks with the stencil and then added shading with Copic Markers. I splattered white paint on the background and evergreens for snow. A white gel pen was also used to add snow and highlights to the trees and scene to complete the look.

My tree in the foreground was hand drawn, fussy cut and added to the front of the scene, allowing the camper to be nestled between the trees. I added Pearl Pen in red (similar to Nuvo Drops) for fresh berries and a touch of red.

Shading in cool grays adds depth to the scene and the look of fresh fallen snow around the camper. This is a 5″ X 7″ card, but could be easily made into an A2 card size, too.  The final step was adding the “merry everything” phrase to the bottom corner of snow for high contrast.
