Hi, friends! I’m sharing another card today featuring the NEW and innovative Stencils 360(TM) and the Hello Sunshine stencil by Penguin Palace. If you missed yesterday’s post, you can view it here. It includes a video on how to use this fun stencil tool/system.
Today’s card uses both sizes of the Hello Sunshine Stencils 360°™ barrels. The two sizes of the stencil – 4″ and 8″ – are included in the kits. The Hello Sunshine dies can be purchased individually or as a set. I’m also using a new stamp set called Heartfelt Notes.
To make this card, I used the 4″ barrel for the focal point circle in the middle. I stamped the stencil by using smaller intervals between each turn of the stencil. By doing this, I got more coverage and less white showing through between the colored rays. I used six colors of distressed oxides from yellow to a red to create this look. Once I completed the stencil design, I die cut it out in a circular shape – outside and in the inside. The entire “donut” shape was popped up using dimensional tabs. Inside the opening, I stamped and die cut the Thank you design from the Heartfelt Notes stamp set. Notice, I made the heart orange by stamping the phrase again in orange ink and cutting out the heart to use on the black stamped image.
For the background design, I used the 8″ barrel and four colors of Distressed Oxide Inks. I followed the “square” icons on the stencil system to create this open design. To complete this 5″ X 7″ card, I added white stitching lines using a white gel pen and added some additional die cut circles in oranges and red cardstock to accent the focal point design.
