Traditional Sunflower Sympathy Card
For this sympathy card, I used a very traditional color scheme of yellows, gold, browns and greens. I colored these black ink stamped beauties in using my Copic Sketch Markers. This Sunflower Background stamp is very intricate with lots of depth and layers to color.
I simply stamped it in black on white cardstock and colored it.This is an excellent stamp to practice coloring including shading and highlighting! I think I could keep coloring and make it better and better each time.
I used the CZ Design Clean Lines Everyday stamp and die sets for the “with sympathy” phrase. I embossed it in white on brown cardstock and attached in the lower right corner of this 5″ X 7″ card.
Embossed Sunflower Birthday Card
My second card is a 5-1/2″ square card. I embossed the design using WOW! gold embossing powder on white cardstock and used a very non-traditional color scheme. I have to say this is my favorite card of all three. I LOVE how this turned out.
I used pinks and blues to color the flowers. I used Copics in E04, R11, R20, B41, B000 and We, W1, W0 to color the design.
I used the CZ Design Clean Lines Everyday stamp and die sets to create the gold embossed Happy Birthday phrase. I popped it up using dimensional foam tabs to make it stand out from the busy background.
Monochromatic Peace Card
For my third 5″ X 7″ card, I used a monochromatic color scheme using warm grays. I love how peaceful this looks. I also like that the color scheme allows the beautiful illustration to shine.
I stamped in black on white cardstock and used W0, W1, W3, W5, and W9 Copic Sketch Markers to color. I added some sequins in fall tones to the sunflowers for a bit of softness.
I used the CZ Design Clean Lines Faith stamp and die sets to create the phrase in the upper right corner.

The Brown and yellow sunflower sympathy card is stunning!
Thanks so much, Susan! Each one takes on a whole different look based on how they are colored. I love the soft pastel one, but it is not realistic looking at all! Have a great day! Bobbi
Each card has its own ‘WOW’ factor. The first with the vibrant colors, can almost pick the sunflowers. The second so soft and appealing. The third one has a dramatic and classic black and white theme.
