Today is Day 3 of the Honey Bee Stamps Holiday Cheer release sneak peeks. This release is scheduled to go live on Sunday night, October 25, 2020, right after the live release party on Instagram at 8:00 PM CST. Today I’m sharing a botanical holiday card featuring the following new products from the release:

Lovely Layers Pinecone die set

Burlap A2 Coverplate die set

Country Christmas Wreath Stamp and die sets

Barnwood Planks die sets

For this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by adding the barnwood planks die pieces to the background of the front panel. Each plank was edged with some black ink and touched with a W3 and W1 Copic Sketch Markers to age them a bit. I added black dots for nail heads in the corners to each plank. This plank die looks awesome! Because the planks are designed for A2, I used them on this A7 card by butting them up to each other.

Next, I added burlap to the plank front. I die cut this cool cover plate in a tan color and added some brown chestnut ink to the edges to darken it and add more interest. Now it’s time to create these beautiful pinecones. There are six layers in the Lovely Layers Pinecone set that you simply die cut and glue together using the Honey Bee Stamps Precision Glue and glueholder (LOVE THIS STUFF). I also painted each piece with some white paint and metallic copper and gold paints on the medium brown cardstock. I was not fussy at all with this step. Nature isn’t perfect. It can be messy and imperfect. That becomes its beauty!

The Pinecone set includes lovely pine branches that I die cut in metallic copper and silver cardstock as well as green cardstock. I added the cones and branches arranging it to create a three-point design with the pinecones. This arrangement left a space in the center for a pretty ivory poinsettia from the new Country Christmas Wreath die set. I added a little confetti bit in the middle and splashed some diamond glitter on top using glue to make it all sparkle, too! Finally, a bow, using the bow dies from the pinecone set was made using pattern paper from the Log Cabin 6″ X 6″ paper pad. Ballet Slipper confetti mix bits were added for additional sparkle and a soft pink color. I love pink with copper. It is soft, elegant and frankly stunning in my opinion. This card is ready to share now. 🙂
