It’s time for the Simon Says Stamp DieCember release! This release is all dies, no stamps or stencils. There’s snowflakes to hearts in this release – plenty of choices for all tastes and preferences! I’m sharing four of the new dies from the release this week. Check my blog for more looks featuring them!
My card today features the new Jewel Snowflake and the Autumn Splendor dies.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by creating a snowflake mask for my card front panel. I simply die cut the Jewel Snowflake out of regular copy paper and added some Pixie Spray to the back to make it temporarily stick. I used my blender brushes and a soft hand to add color around the mask in light colors using Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio and Carved Pumpkin Distressed Oxide Inks. I lightly blended to keep the colors soft and light. I sprinkled water on it and lifted color and the water by blotting with a paper towel. Lastly, I splatter Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof white paint over the background. This helps lighten the color, too.
For the focal point, I added a little bit larger snowflake called Mandala Snowflake Wafer Die. I attached it using one Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Square. I also heat embossed in white using Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder, the simple word, “peace” from the CZ Design stamp set, Clean Line Christmas stamp and die sets. (Combo set here.) I die cut another peace outline from 3MM white craft foam, adhered it to the back of the embossed cut and attached it all together and to the card using HBS Precision Glue.
My card front panel was attached to my card base. My card base is made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock as well as my card front panel. Iridescent Sequins finish off this 5″ X 7″ card.
For my tags, I splatter white paint on the tags die cut using the Hero Arts Nesting Tag Die set (this is the largest tag shape). I added faux stitching around the edge using a Uni-Ball Signo Silver Pen. I added the Autumn Splendor die cut. I heat embossed in white using Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder and die cut the phrase, “Calm and Bright” from the CZ Design stamp set, Clean Line Christmas stamp and die sets. (Combo set here.) Various sequins and bits were glued to the front using using HBS Precision Glue. Iridescent string was added to the tag.
For my last tag, I added some pompom fringe I purchased at my local store to the bottom edge. I glued it on using HBS Precision Glue. That works like a charm! I doubled up the Jewel Snowflake and added a white pompom to the center for fun. The word, “peace” is from Clean Line Christmas stamp set. Sequins and a Fuchsia and white Baker’s Twine string finish off this festive tag.
