Galentine Greeting
To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by die cutting the pink background using the Quilted A2 Coverplate die. I needed two of these to cover the A7 size. If you are creating an A2 sized card, one is all you need! I also used the die on a strip of white to use, too. Using scraps of cardstock, I created the striped color band that is positioned at the base of the card. Faux stitching in black was added to both the top and bottom edges of the banding. The card base, phrase, band and image were all stamped and/or die cut from 80lb white cardstock.
I stamped, colored and die cut the friends image from 80lb white cardstock and used the following Copic colors to color this pretty illustration:
- Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, E15, E13, E57
- Hair: E57, E55, E43, E50, C7, C5, C3
- Clothing: C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
I purposely kept the clothing simple and in all gray tones to show off the gals natural beauty – hair and skin. I wanted the focus to be on them with their arms around each v. their outfits.
I attached the phrase using dimensional foam tabs and also added a few pink acrylic hearts above it, too! I always use the HBS Precision Glue for adhering my bits. It works great. This is a quick card. To make it even quicker, you could leave the image uncolored for a simple, but lovely design, too.
