It’s release time again at Simon Says Stamp. The latest release is called, Love You. This time, it’s a love-themed release just in time for Valentine’s Day.

My card here uses the Cosmo Stencil and the Love Greetings Mix stamp set. I paired these two new items with an older die called Cosmo Flower Frame wafer die.  This older die works so well with this new stencil.

Love You Cosmo Window

For this 5″ X 7″ greeting card made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock, I started by die cutting the cosmo window frame from the upper center area of a 5″ X 7″ card front panel (that will be later adhered to the card base). Once it was die cut, I stenciled the cosmos on the panel, carefully covering the die cut flower with a sticky note to keep the flower completely white. I wanted the cut flower lines to match the white lines of the stenciled flowers.

The Cosmo Stencil was ink blended with Ranger Distressed Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry for the petals, Festive Berries for the flower centers and Spun Sugar for the background. I added a little extra red using a R59 Copic to some of the centers. Later, sequins were added to the front in pink shades.

I die cut another cosmo window frame from the card base, matching it up with the front card panel. Between the card front panel and the card base, I added a piece of clear acetate to cover the window. The layers were adhered together using 1/4″ double-sided Scor-Tape Crafting Tape between layers.  I stamped in black the “love you” circular design and glued it to the center of the die cut flower.

Inside, I die cut another cosmo window frame, cut out the flower and attached it to the bottom right corner inside the card base. I love the white on white that matches the window cosmo. I also stamped the “be mine” phrase inside, carefully positioning the phrase to show through the window on front.
