Lovely Layers: Easter Lily Honey Cuts
You are going to absolutely love this beautiful dimensional lily and perfect fit wood frame die sets. All of the sets in this release are perfect for your Spring cards and Easter wishes!
Letter boards are all the rage so I thought it would be fun to create a faux board using the new Wood Frame Builder Die set. I made this frame in a fun aqua color for Spring. To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the frame pieces that make an A7 card. There are four sizes of frame pieces so you can also make an A2 size or a 5″ square card, too! I love that. 🙂
For the letterboard, I used a charcoal gray colored cardstock and with a ruler and .05 fine tip black marker, drew lines every 1/4″ until I reached the other side. This increment works great with the Tailgate Alphabet die set letters. I cut these letters our of Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock. You can choose any verse and tailor it to your recipient.
Before applying the letters, I added the lily and leaves to the right side of the frame so that I knew how much space was left for attaching the letters. The lily was created by die-cutting the layers out of watercolor paper I created by applying yellows and green paints to it. I also splattered the paper with some copper-colored paint for more imperfection.
Once the lily design was in place and glued down using Honey Bee Stamps’ exclusive Bee Creative Precision Tip Glue, I attached the letters. I recommend not using a permanent glue for the letters. I used an adhesive that I could pull up and reapply if the letter spacing was slightly off. This process took some time to get the spacing right and the letters straight. I chose a long phrase! I also recommend starting with the center letter of each line and applying the letters on each side to make sure the lines of letters are centered on each respective line. I loved the look when it was finished!
