Hello Trinity Fans! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a fun birthday card to celebrate with Trinity Stamps. June is Trinity’s birthday month and we’re having fun by sharing birthday card ideas all month long. I’m using the following Trinity Stamps products for this card:
Balancing Acts stamp set and coordinating die set
Hometown Parade stamp set (for the “Let’s Celebrate” phrase)
That’s the Ticket Slimline Die set (for the stars only)
For this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the cool Slimline Center Burst Die out of a light aqua color. I removed each die cut section and applied Mermaid Lagoon Distressed Oxide Ink using a Blending Buddy Brush to the inner edges. I also cut a 5″ X 7″ piece of Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card front panel.
To add the aqua sections to the card front, I used the leftover sunburst cut to position each section on the card front. This ensures that the placement is even and perfect like the die. You can see that I used an uneven piece of aqua cardstock so I simply lined up the top of the design to the top of my card base front for even placement.
Once the sunburst was in place, I moved on to the focal image. I stamped, colored and cut out the dog, umbrella and teacups from the Balancing Acts stamp set and coordinating die set. I used Copic Markers in E31, E34, E47 and 100 to color the dog. The umbrella and teacups were colored with R17, R14, G04, V04, and Y18. I attached the image at the starburst center using Scrapbook Adhesives dimensional foam tabs. I stamped the phrases from the Hometown Parade stamp set and the Balancing Acts stamp set at the bottom and added colored dots between the phrases using R14, G04, Y18, B05 and BG23. I added stars from the That’s the Ticket Slimline Die set to the front, adding foam adhesives under a couple of them for dimension. Pearl Pen in silver was added to the stars for some sparkle.
Inside the card, I took a different approach for the verse. Since I have more need for cards for adults v. kids, I added a custom phrase inside that says, “Good news. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Happy Birthday.” This more juvenile looking circus dog image now becomes a snarky card for an older adult.
To add the phrase, I lined up my phrase with my 5″ and 7-1/2″ guide marks and printed the card base. Note: I used Photoshop, but you can use any word processing software to add a custom phrase. Also, I chose a font that looked similar to my stamp phrases on the front for unity. The base was trimmed to 10″ wide x 7″ tall, scored at 5″ and the card front was attached to complete the card. I like to use Neenah 80lb cardstock when I’m adding a front panel. It has the right amount of stability without the weight and bulk.
