NOTE: Jane’s Doodles is closed for vacation right now and her website is down. I will link these products when the site is back up early August!

Hi friends. I’m back with another card featuring the new fig set by Jane’s Doodles. Jane has a way with finding beauty in the most unusual things. I mean do you have a fig set in your stash? This is my first one! I combined her latest set with a recently released set called, Fresh Cut Flowers.

To make the 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped and colored the elements on Canson XL Bristol Smooth watercolor paper for the fruit and leaves and 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the flowers and vase. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48)  to color the fruit and leaves. I used Copic Markers to color the vase of flowers. A combination of E50s, gold and purples were used to color it in.

I had a scrap strip of watercolor paper that I used to anchor my composition on. It helps to have a resting ground so the elements are not floating on the card. I arranged the fruit and vase above the strip and added the phrase below it.

Some of the elements were popped up using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares for added dimension. I also curved my leaves with my fingers to make them more realistic. I used a Uni-bell Signo White Gel Pen to add detailing to the leaves and fruit, too.
