Hi Bee friend! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here sharing a “new home” congratulatory card today. In my day life, I provide interior design services for homeowners. When a project is complete, I like to give a gift to the homeowners to congratulate them on their finished home. A handmade card is just the right touch to go with a gift. I am loving the new Rooting For You set for this purpose. However, these sets can be used for so many more reasons/occasions, too!
For this card, I am using the following Honey Bee Stamps products from the Sealed With Love release:
Happy Plants stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts die set
Rooting for You stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts die set
Swirling Leaves A2 Cover Plate die set
For this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Swirling Leaves A2 Cover Plate die set die, cut from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock. I used two superfine-tip markers in light and dark green and connected the design dots, making it look like hand sewn vines growing in the background. I offers a bit of “textile” fun! The die cut piece was matted with a green cardstock and attached to a white front measuring 4-1/2″ wide X 6-1/2″ tall.
Using Bee Creative Intense Black ink, I stamped the Happy Plants stamp set images. I die cut them using the coordinating Honey Cuts die set. I colored them in using shades of lavender, greens and browns. Here are the Copic Marker colors I used:
- Lavenders: V0, V12, V04, and V09
- Greens: UG99, YG67, YG63, YG61, YG03
- Earth (browns): E59, E57, E55, E53, E50, E43, and E42
- Warm grays: W4, W3, W1, W0, W00 for shading
Everything was colored, assembled and adhered in place using Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. I also used Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white to pop up the basket and small planter stand on the left.
I stamped the phrase from the Rooting for You stamp set using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink Pad on a mulberry-colored cardstock. I embossed it using White Opaque Embossing Powder and die cut it out. I attached it at the top and added some lavender Honey Bee sequins.
I attached the entire front to a lavender A7-sized card base.
Inside the card, I stamped another phrase from the Rooting for You stamp set. I stamped a few plants from the Happy Plants stamp set to complete the inside.
