Hi there, Bee friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here sharing a fun food valentine featuring good ole sliced bread! Two weeks ago, I shared a valentine featuring fried eggs. What goes best with eggs? Toast! While I’m sending the egg valentine to my daughter, my son (the other twin) will be getting this silly one. He’ll appreciate it!
I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products for this homemade valentine:
To My Butter Half stamp set and coordinating die set
Farmhouse Check Background stamp set
Hello Sweetheart stamp set and coordinating die set
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by die cutting a scallop rectangle from black cardstock using a die from the Scallop A7 Honey Cuts die set. I stamped the Farmhouse Check Background stamp set on Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock using Bee Creative Black Intense Ink and trimmed the piece down to fit within the stitching lines of the scallop rectangle. I scored the rectangle 1″ in from the left side. This will act as the hinge to the card base.
Next, I worked on the cutting board and bread. I cut the board from kraft cardstock and used Copic Markers in E43, E55, E57, E59, 100 and a fine tip black marker to enhance the woodgrain texture. I stamped and die cut two slices of bread using the To My Butter Half stamp set and coordinating die set. I colored the bread using E59, E57, E55, E53, E50, E25 and 100 to color the bread. I added butter to one slice and berry preserves to the other one. To make the jam, I glued sequins from the Chocolate Covered Strawberries sequin mix into a dollop of berry spread.
I attached the bread and cutting board to the farmhouse plaid textile runner. I stamped and die cut the phrase using the To My Butter Half stamp set and coordinating die set and attached it to the cutting board.
For the 5″ X 7″ card base, I cut two 5″ X 7″ panels from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock. One one piece, I used a MISTI stamping tool and Bee Creative Black Intense, Ink and stamped the bread image repeatedly from top to bottom. I attached the textile runner to the back of the panel at the score line. I attached the other A7 piece to the back, concealing the hinge between the two pieces. The phrase, “You make my heart happy” from the Hello Sweetheart stamp set was embossed in white on black cardstock and cut it out using the coordinating die set. I attached it underneath the front cover to finish the card.
