Hello friends! Ready to chill together on this summer day? Well, I am. I have a card to share featuring fun products from the Let’s Chill Release by Simon Says Stamp. We are doing an Instagram Hop to celebrate the new products. Head to my IG page to hop on. Leave a comment at each stop on the hop (on Instagram) for a chance to win prizes, too. Details on Instagram.
Today, I’m using the following new products:
My card measures 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s more details…
Hello Sunshine Butterfly Card
My feature card is a 5″ X 7″ portrait card made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I stenciled the cosmos on a separate sheet of cardstock and cut them out to fit over the front panel. I used Broken China and Squeezed Lemonade for the flowers and Mustard Seed for the flower centers. The centers were enhanced for dimension using YR24 and YR27 Copic Markers. To make the background rainbow design, I used a a cutting die by Honey Bee Stamps called, Rainbow Accents Die. Under the cutout, I blended three colors of Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers. I splattered water on top of the wet ink and blotted up color for the splotchy look. This sheet was layered under the rainbow cutout. I layered the cosmos panel layered over the rainbow.
To make the final layers, I embossed the butterflies on white cardstock and added watercolors to the wings in a brushed motion. I love the organic look and feel of watercolor and it just felt right on these butterflies. I attached the butterflies using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. I die cut the Hello Sunshine die from a mustard yellow cardstock and applied to the lower left corner to finish this card.
