Now on to some inspiration using this fun new kit, the Tropical Card Kit by Galina! You can view this entire collection here.

Aloha Cockatoo Card

This A2 sized card uses the the Tropical Card Kit by Galina Filippenko along with the pretty Layered Orchid stencil. The kit includes this amazing cockatoo bird die set offering layers of beauty to create this wonderful bird. In addition, the kit includes the branch, flowers and leaves to add to the scene. I paired the die cuts with the Layered Orchid design, stenciled over one of the stripe-printed card bases included in the kit. I thought it would be fun to add fringe to the bottom. Fringe just seems to add a tropical vibe to this greeting. I used a scissors and cut the fringe by hand, using the stripes as my guide. Here’s some coloring details:

  • Stencil uses the following Distress Oxide Inks: Kitch Flamingo, Spun Sugar, and Mowed Lawn. I enhanced the designs using Copic Markers, too. I used the same pinks and greens as listed for the die cuts.
  • I colored/enhanced the die cuts using the following Copics: E40, E42, RV09, RV02, RV55, Y19, YG00 YG03, YG17, and YG67

Inside the card, I added some of the leftover orchid stencil design paper at the top and a sentiment from the stamp set (included in the kit) right below it. This card is tropical and happy!

You’re on My Mind Tropical Card

For this very vibrant and tropical card, I used more of the fun fine stripes print card base for the background and added the florals from the kit. I kept the leaves white to make the colorful blooms really pop. Embellishments from the kit adorn these pretty flowers along with some tiny white dots using a gel pen.

This kit also includes sentiments in reverse out (black with white) that can be added for quick cards. The card requires no stamping on the front; all of these pretties are either die cuts or pre-printed pieces!

I stamped the inside with one of the phrases to finish this festive A2 card. You can shop the entire collection here!
