It’s time for an Instagram Hop for Simon Says Stamp‘s newest release called, Just For You. Today, I’m sharing a few cards over on Instagram that feature products from the release. I’ve gone all organic today – with a bit of a twist and bow – with the following new items:

Mushroom Stems Dies

Leaf Edges Background stamp set

Herb Labels stamp set and coordinating dies (bundle here)

GIVEAWAY:  Head to Instagram to see all the pretties by a group of talented designers. Leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win a $25 gift card to the Simon Says Stamp store. Winners will be chosen randomly from the comments left on each hopper’s post. All winners will be announced on Simon’s Instagram feed on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

My cards below measure 5″ X 7″ and fit inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card fronts and card bases. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s the details.

Pink Mushrooms Greeting

For this 5″ X 7″ greeting, I created these fun pink mushrooms in three sizes from the Mushroom Stems Dies. I die cut them  from Canson XL Bristol watercolor paper  (blue pad) I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48)  to color the mushrooms and stems. I love the imperfect and fluid look that watercolor paint offers. It’s perfect for these organic-shaped mushrooms. I attached all the elements to make the shrooms, switching out a few of the stems, i.e., placing long stems on small caps and short stems on big caps. I used Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares to attach the fronts to the backs to make them dimensional. I splattered the mushrooms with white paint and brown watercolor paint to make them a bit spotty, too. I love how they turned out.

For the background, I used black cardstock, covered with a warm gray on the bottom and a soft pink on top. I die cut an oval from the pink and gray 4.75″ X 6.75″ pieces using the Hero Arts Nesting Oval dies. I sewed the edges of the pink cardstock on the sides using my sewing machine. It looks like the pieces were sewn together, but they are not. Inside the oval, I stamped the Leafy edge design on white cardstock and softly colored in the leaves using W1 and W3 Copic colors to match the warm gray cardstock on the bottom.

I attached all the mushrooms, including two on the outside of the oval using adhesive. I used a fine-tip black marker, my Sakura Classic White Gelly Roll white pen, and Copics in W3 and W1 to add grassy stems around the mushrooms on the outside to ground them. Every thing was splattered a bit with black and metallic gold watercolor paints. I stamped a phrase inside the oval from the set, Well Wishes stamp set (stamps and dies bundle here) to finish the look.

Tied Mushroom Bouquet Greeting

For this 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped the Leafy Edges design off the top of the card front in black. I cut and crimped a 3″ band of warm gray cardstock (cut 3″ tall X 5″ wide), attached 1/4″ pink border strips on the top and bottom and attached it to the front. Everything was splattered using metallic gold watercolor paint. Black twine was wrapped around the crimped band.

I stamped in black on white cardstock and cut the label design from the Herb Labels stamp set and coordinating dies (bundle here). This will be my backdrop for the mushroom bouquet.  I attached some extra mushrooms leftover from the first card. I added a bow around the mushroom stems to make a mushroom bouquet. How cute is that?!

Lastly, I stamped a phrase from the set, Well Wishes stamp set (stamps and dies bundle here) to finish this card.
