It’s the fourth day of Inspiration Week for the Honey Bee StampsAdventure Awaits Release. I am loving all the masculine and nature-focused sets in this release! I need a sympathy card for a friend who just lost her dad. I thought these sets would be perfect since he loved his cabin in the woods.

I’m using the following new products to make this sympathy card:

Lovely Layers: Trees Honey Cuts dies

Be Still stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies

Tall Pines Set of 4 Layering Stencils

Into the Woods 3D Embossing Folder

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To begin, I stenciled the background of this 5″ X 7″ card using four shades of Distress Oxide Inks and the four stencils of the Tall Pines Set of 4 Layering Stencils. I used Bundled Sage, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, and Rustic Wilderness. I die cut the pine trunks and top evergreen layers. and positioned them over the tree background. Because my card is 7″ tall, I had white space under the stenciled design so I embossed tan cardstock using the Into the Woods 3D Embossing Folder. I added some extra dimension with my white Gelly Roll Pen and Copics in E49, E44, E55 and E57. I also added some graining using my black fine-tip marker.

For my trees, I used the top layer of the evergreens that is less filled in because I wanted these to look like sparse pines in a dense forest. You can certainly make them fuller by using the multiple layers that are included in the set. I added the trunks then the greenery layers and added some extra YG67 shadowing to the pines to make them look even more dimensional than they already are. I splattered some white paint over them as well. I used foam tabs to attach the foreground layers for added dimension.

Lastly, I attached the sentiments from the Be Still stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies to the front and attached the front panel to the card base to finish this card.
