Hi Bee friends! It’s time for school to start which means bringing an apple for the teacher! I have lots of apples on my card today. This 5″ x 7″ card includes new items from the Honey Bee Stamp’s Heartfelt Harvest release. These products are available now to order. My card includes the following products:

Awesome to the Core stamp set and coordinating Honey Cut dies

Apple Barrel Honey Cuts dies

Lovely Layers: Oak Branch Honey Cuts dies

Homestead Harvest Paper Pad

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue to adhere my items in place and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab. My card measures 5″ wide X 7″ tall.

To make this card, I cut the elements and attached the layered pieces to make the apple barrel and oak branch filled with leaves. I used Copic Sketch markers in the following shades to enhance the die cut pieces.

  • Apple Barrel: E42, E43, E51, W1, E44, and E57
  • Oak Branch and leaves: G29, E49, E47, and E44

I also cut the apples from white, red and maroon cardstock colors and shaded them using R89, R46, R27, R17, R14, and R22. Leaves were cut from green cardstock and added to the apples. The large apple, flower and apple slice were stamped in black ink and colored with the same reds listed above and the greige colors I used on the apple barrel.

For the background, I used a new pattern paper from the Homestead Harvest Paper Pad cut to 5″ wide X 5″ long. I splattered some black and white paint on top to “dinge” it up a bit.  I splattered gold watercolor paint on white cardstock and cut a 5″ wide X 2″ strip to fit below the plaid print. The oak branches, barrel, apple, apple slice and flower were adhered in place. I used Copics W5, W2, W0 to shade below the items resting on the white strip.
