Truckloads of Love A7 Card

Today, I’m sharing a 5″ X 7″ card featuring a new stamp set called, “Truckloads of Love.” I’m using the stamps and coordinating dies to create this card.  This vintage greeting features not one, but two trucks filled with fall fun. One vintage truck has a load of fall-colored leaves and the other one filled with bright orange pumpkins. See the cute animals? Yep, they come in the set, too. I added an animal in each one.

I stamped the trucks, animals, pumpkins and leaves in black on Neenah 80lb cardstock. I colored the images using Copic Sketch Markers and added a little vintage rust on both trucks. I like to use YR27, YR24 and E44 for my rust spots. I cut the trucks using the coordinating die and then went back in and fussy cut out the driver’s window in each truck. I wanted the background to show through the trucks. I added wood sides to the bed of the red truck and “painted” the the hood a different color from the red body for more vintage interest.

For the front panel background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in various browns to create the dirt road, a background perfect for vintage trucks. I splattered water on the inks and pulled up some of the color for the splotchy look. I added specks in white and black for gravel pieces and shaded below the trucks. A few leaves on the ground finish the road. Below the road, in the white space at the bottom, I used sections of the pickup banner to create a fun little border design. With the 7″ length of an A7-sized card, I had room to fit it in.

I splattered the sky area, above the dirt path, with brown watercolor paint. It looks like leafy specks in the air. I also stamped some full, mini leaves in the air with some movement marks for falling leaves. I stamped a sentiment from the set at the top to finish the card.
