Love You to the Barn and Back

Love You to the Barn and Back

Hello Bee friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski with a card for all those special farmers that work hard each day. I was born, raised and currently live in Wisconsin and we are known for farms, barns and striped fields of plantings. I think these sets and this clever sentiment are such a nice addition to the Honey Bee product line. I’m using the following new products from the Honey Bee Stamps Heartfelt Harvest release:

Farmhouse Fields Scene Builder Cover Plate – Honey Cuts die set

Farmhouse Fields Stencil Set

On the Farm Honey Cuts die set

It is Well stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts die set

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by creating the background using the Farmhouse Fields Scene Builder Cover Plate – Honey Cuts die set and Farmhouse Fields Stencil Set. After embossing the background, I used the stencil set to color the layers of sky, trees and fields. I used Distress Oxide Inks from top down: Tumbled Glass, Tattered Rose, Wild Honey, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Brushed Corduroy, Forest Moss, and Crushed Olive. I blended the colors on the layers using Blender Brushes. For the tree, I added another layer of leaves shaded with ink in multiple colors to make it more dimensional. I used foam tabs between the leafy layers to make the tree stand out. For the striped fields, I used E44 Copic Sketch Marker to create the lines. For the trees in the background and the large tree in the foreground, I used Copics YR27, YR24, YG99, R89 and a white Gelly Roll Pen to create leafy looks. I used E47 to create the foreground weedy sprigs, too.

Next, using the On the Farm Honey Cuts die set, I die cut the elements to piece together the barn, house, tractor, windmill, trees around the house and the fencing. I glued the pieces together and attached them to the background. I used foam tabs behind the white farmhouse to make it appear closer than the other elements. I added simple shading using Copic YR99 and W4 under the die cuts to “ground” them in the scene.

Lastly, I stampedcut and attached a sentiment from the It is Well stamp set. I thought this phrase was so clever and fitting for this cute farm scene. The phrase was attached using more foam tabs.
