Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember celebration! It’s a month full of cool new products from stamps to accessories.  Today’s card features the new set, You Matter stamps and dies. My card was inspired by the new red colors found in the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cubes Red Earth. I paired the various fall-ish reds with a nice teal color to make this A7 card.

My card below measure 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together.  My white Gelly Roll Pen is my go-to for adding any white highlights. Here’s the details.

To make this card,  I stamped the floral swag designs around the perimeter of the card front panel. I stamped the verse in the upper center area. I used Hero Arts Intense Black Ink to stamp. Next I colored the florals with the following Copic Markers. The colors were inspired by the beautiful Red Earth inks by Simon Says Stamp.

  • Reds – R89, R46, R29, R17, R14, R22
  • Red-Violets – RV69, RV09
  • Violets – V04, V05
  • Teals – BG79, BG72, BG11
  • Warm Grays – W3
  • Greens – BG93, YG03

Once everything was colored, I splattered on brown watercolor ink using a fan brush and my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints.

I cut my card base (10″ wide X 7″ tall) and scored and folded down the middle. I attached the card front panel to the outside and hand cut around the floral images on the far right side. Inside the card, I attached a 5″ X 7″ panel of pattern paper. The pattern shows through to the front when the card is closed. I used a Honey Bee pattern paper from the Sweet and Spooky Paper Pad which is also available at Simon Says Stamp.
