Hi everyone. It’s been awhile posting on my blog, but if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see lots of new stuff “blooming” this spring with companies that I am designing for. Today’s Instagram post features a fun card using products by Brass and Bliss Craft Co. I am just loving their products. They are easy to use, dies are precut for you, and stamps works amazingly well! For today’s card, I’m using the following products:
Tropical Birds and Leaves Dies
Farmer’s Market Spring Accessories Dies
My card measures 5″ X 7″ and is made from Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card base and card front.
To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I for die cut the elements of the overalls using the Overalls Dies. I used a golden yellow cardstock along with a metallic silver and gold for the metal pieces on the shoulder straps. I “dinged” up the overalls by adding some Rusty Hinge ink around the edges to make them less perfect. After all, a gardener gets the dirt! I added stitching around the edge using my Gelly Roll Pen in white. The contrast looks perfect.
Next I die cut lots of flowers and leaves using the Tropical Birds and Leaves Dies and Farmer’s Market Spring Accessories Dies from various colors of cardstock. I added them in the pockets and front. Did you see the little note in the breast pocket… just a little fun detail!
After all the flowers were in place, I splattered on some watercolor ink in a dark brown and some hot pink to connect the florals. This is a fun way to add a little of the “unexpected” into the design. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the Amazing Blooms stamp set to complete this A7 card. I think any gardener or flower lover would enjoy receiving this card!
