FREE BEE! One last thing, while supplies last, get a FREE BEE of gorgeous pattern papers with qualifying purchases of $100 or more from Honey Bee! These patterns are beautiful. Look at my card below. The lemon topiary tree is sitting on a band of pattern paper from this paper pack! Now on to my card details…
For the basics, my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To create this greeting card, I stamped the English Cottage stamp on white cardstock using Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I also cut a 5″ X 7″ card front and a 5″ X 7″ card base (cut 10″ X 7″ tall and scored in the middle). I stamped the English Cottage on the 5″ X 7″ card front again, positioning as shown. I colored the one on the separate sheet and cut out the cottage and rocky border in front of the home out using my scissors. This section will be placed on the card front using foam tabs to make the cottage and border stand out from the background of the illustration. I did the same with the floral clumps in the foreground to make the card dimensional.
To color the design, I used the following Copic Sketch Markers and white gel pen:
- Browns: E59, E57, E55, E53, E44, E42, E41
- Reds: R89, R29, R17, R14
- Yellows: Y19, Y08, Y06
- Cool Grays: C9, C7, C6, C4, C3, C1
- Warm Grays: W5, W4, W3, W1
- Black: 100
- Greens: YG67, YG63, YG61, YG03, YG00
- Purples: V09, V04
- Blues: B000, B00, B01
- White Gel Pen for highlights
I also used a fine-tip black marker for some of the detailing on the pathway leading to the front door.
After coloring the design, I fussy cut out the elements noted above and attached them to the card front. I finished coloring the rest of the design on the card front.
Extra black specks were added around the design and a sentiment from the So Special stamp was stamped below the design to complete the card.
