Hello, friends! I’ve got a bright card to share today that features the beautiful Hibiscus stamp set by Jane’s Doodles. To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with watercolor paper for the background. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48)  and Canson XL Bristol Smooth watercolor paper and brushed on blues and purples. I think watercolors are fascinating. I love how they organically spread and blend together to create multiple shades. Once the left side was dry, I splattered more paint on the right by flicking a loaded paint brush with ink intense paint.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the blooms and leaves. I colored each one following my inspiration, the blue ombre hibiscus. I used Copic Sketch V04 for some of the edging for the violet shade and then used BV shades for the rest of the flower blooms. Yellows, Y19 and Y08 were used for the centers.

Hibiscus flowers were attached to the watercolor background using dimensional foam tape. Leaves were tucked up and under the blossoms for a dimensional look. I added the “praying for you” phrase strip made from purple cardstock with silver embossing to the front and attached the entire panel to a 5″ X 7″ card base made from 80lb cardstock.
