Hello friends. Today, I am participating in an Instagram Hop on my Bobbi Hart Design Instagram page. You can head over here to start the hop. There are prizes involved, too!
Alex Syberia Designs is launching their brand new July 2025 collection, you’ll find fun floral press plates and beautiful butterflies in this new release! Hop along to see all the inspiration and for a chance to win one of four $15 (or £15) gift cards! Details on how to enter to win are on my Instagram post here.
I’m sharing details here about my featured card on the hop. My card measures 5″ X 7″ and is made from Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card base and card front panel.
I’m using the following NEW Alex Syberia Designs products:
Essential Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set
To create this card, I used the Summer Flower Press Plate to print the large sunflower on my background. I used a pretty teal ink to press the design onto my paper. I added additional color by coloring the leaves with Copic markers in BG13, BG11, B00, and B01. I also splattered on some teal watercolor ink and white ink over the entire design. I set it aside to dry.
Next, I die cut the four butterfly wings from a pink and white cardstock. I used Distress Oxide Ink in Festive Berries to darken the edges of the pink wings. I glued all the pink wings on pink cardstock and hand cut around them so that I would have a backing to add in the inlay pieces. I glued all the cutouts from the white butterfly into the pink butterfly.
Using my Copics, I added color details to the white inlays using Copic Markers in R14, RV55, YG01, YG03, Y19, Y08, BG49, B01, BG11 and B00. I attached the butterfly’s body and antennas cut from pink cardstock and ink blended with Festive Berries. I added some additional florals onto the butterfly body. I attached the white wings behind the pink wings for a little extra “frill and flair!” I attached the butterfly to the front panel background using foam tabs to make them stand out.
I used the Essential Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set to add the “Have a beautiful day” sentiment to the card. I attached it with foam tabs to make it stand out. I attached additional florals and leaves around the butterfly. Lastly, I added pearl gem stickers in teal, aqua and pink around the butterfly, sentiment and on the tips of the antennas.
