I want daisies…and tulips, iris, crocus and all the flowers of Spring and Summer! I needed to break away from Winter and have a little fun with these fresh daisies from Honey Bee Stamps. Today’s cards use the following Honey Bee Products:
I created this background by added circles of color on watercolor paper. I use Canson XL for my cards. Once dry, I flicked black spots on the card front for added interest. After stamping and die-cutting the daisies, I added craft foam cut from the same dies to the daisies to allow them to pop off the page (this is when dies are important to have!) A little ribbon in black and white gingham was added as “leaves” to each daisy. I like the contrast of black and white with the bold watercolor circles. The phrase at the bottom is from Ridiculously Happy stamp set. The last thing I did was added faux stitching in black to the top and bottom of the card. This card is a 5″ X 7″ card, but could be easily changed to any size.
For my second card, I started again with a light green wash in the background using watercolors. Once dry, I added flicks of more watercolor. Next, I stamped the leaf from Busy Bees over the top using green fast-drying dye ink. I stamped the fun verse from Small Gang to the center front in Versamark and then heat embossed with black embossing powder. When everything was completely dry, I used Copics in YG65, YG03 and YG01 (my favorite go-to green colors for leaves) to color in the leaves. I added more color to the leaves that were around the phrase v. underneath. Lastly, I stamped and die cut three daisies and a few leaves from Busy Bees stamp and die sets to accent the phrase. Easy peasy!
Thanks for visiting! Have a perfectly dandy, happy-daisy day!
